I was rereading Verity Watson's Pratts series. Part of me wishes (still) that she had finished "Drenched" that went from an epic PWP to actual plot.

Brynn McK  "Balancing Act".  Wonderful.  And hard to find now.  I miss all the old archives and the freshness of so much that was written.

And I'd be embarrassed of being a Hoosier if I hadn't moved from there when I was 2.

Treacle Antlers.  The fic w/ cereal and cartoons in Willow's mental hospital room.  And so much more.

Just finished rereading "The Butcher" by damperandspoons.  I had printed it out when she warned everyone she was turning it into a novel.  Now I want to know if it was published and if she has published anything else.  Some one, somewhere, should collect information like that and keep it some place.  So and So is now publishing under the name "?".  Oh well.
I'm also reading the new biography of T. E. Lawrence.  Keep getting my memory jogged re: Attaturk, The Young Turks and Acuba from my cursory study of the Ottoman Empire years and years ago.  And Lawrence was short!  That just makes me laugh-take that epic hero trope!

As is my wont I've been finding and rereading older Buffy stories.  Trying to stay away from ones that you-can-tell-what-was-going-on-in-fandom ones.  Heh.  I like those too sometimes.  Anyway, I really enjoyed Josephine Martin's "The Rest of My Life".  The voices are off, I don't think Buffy or Spike are that meditative or structured internally.  Didn't mind much because it was such an interesting plot.  It was to advance the story not the love interest theme.
And then I reread Devilpiglet.    "Prayer's to a Broken Stone" then "Roundabout".  Gah, as we used to say.  Dynamic.  Relationship focused, DON'T CARE.

"Man in Motion" by Soulvamp.  Maybe one of my kinks is human Spike/demon Spike?   Its one of the fics that I remember the first time I read it.

I've been rereading "Softer World" by Constance.  As with all her work I like the voices, I like the humor.  It's like an odd kind of fluff... or as far into fluff as I can go.  There is a kindness in her approach to the characters.....  It's the same 'feel' as "Offerings" by OneTooMany but more humor?  I am constantly trying to figure out a card catelog  that satisfies my organizational needs.  Tags are wonderful but I don't want it online.  I have too many that have been pulled or taken down.  Hmmmmm

I'm rereading Nan Dibble.  Cause I needed something long and involved and had reread the Barbverse last year.  (I first "knew" Nan from TableTalk and heard of her death there).  Her stylized Spike Speak bores me after a while and then this scene will come up and I'm "Oh!  That's where that's from!"  I like the Gen feel.  I like Spike & Dawn in fic.  Thank you Nan.
I need to fix the mod icon.  wtf.
Go Phillies!
